Criteria

Question 1: Does species need conservation or recovery in England?
Response: No
Justification: Assessed as LC in England with no evidence of a decline and still relatively widespread and possibly increasing in some areas due to conservation/habitat restoration schemes (Stroh et al., 2014). This was corroborated by Plant Atlas 2020 which showed that its overall distribution is stable.
Question 2: Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions?
Response: No
Justification: This species appears o be increasing in range.
Question 3: At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages?
Response: Yes
Justification: This species does appear to have spread in areas where hay meadow restoration has been undertaken at a landscape scale (e.g. Thames Tributaries).
