Criteria
Question 1: | Does species need conservation or recovery in England? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | Assessed as RE in England (Stroh et al. 2014), this species was last recorded on Holy Island (Northumberland) in 2006. Although a relatively recent loss, this species has exhibited a northwards retreat, perhaps in response to climate change. It may reappear again through chance colonisation of suitable habitat, but is now unlikely to become well established at any sites. |
Question 2: | Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | Although only lost 18 years ago, there is ample suitable habitat in the area where it was last seen and its loss appears to be a genuine response to climate change, and therefore lie outside the remit of species-specific actions. |
Question 3: | At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | This species would not benefit from untargeted management |
