Criteria

Question 1: Does species need conservation or recovery in England?
Response: No
Justification: Native status is very hard to assess. As cited by Sell & Murrell (2006) and Rich & McCosh (2018), it has scattered historic records in native-looking places in Wales and Herefordshire but now all recent records are clearly weedy. It is placed on the WL until evidence is reviewed as to status. Low priority for Hieracium conservation in meantime.
Question 2: Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions?
Response: Yes
Justification: Targeted survey required to determine native/introduced status and requirements for conservation. Seed held in Millennium Seed Bank.
Question 3: At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages?
Response: No
Justification: Unknown at this stage
