Justification: A pioneer species at the edge of its natural range, A. hispidulus was first recorded in Britain at Rye Harbour in 1969, in Suffolk in 1985 & in West Norfolk in 2001, in Oxfordshire in 2014, in East Norfolk in 2016 (Foster et al, 2020). As an expanding species of man-made habitats (sand/gravel workings), A. hispidulus does not warrant conservation action.
