Criteria

Question 1: Does species need conservation or recovery in England?
Response: Yes
Justification: Extremely rare. Since 1979 only recorded from Castern Wood, Staffordshire (vc39) and the Alport and Rivelin valleys, Derbyshire (vc57) in England. Confined to upland regions of Britain and associated with patch habitats such as rotting fungi, grass heaps and carrion. Apparently favours wooded sites.
Question 2: Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions?
Response: No
Justification: A patch habitats species that seems to be climatically restricted. There are no obvious specific actions that can be taken to conserve this species.
Question 3: At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages?
Response: No
Justification: See justification for Q2.
