Criteria

Question 1: Does species need conservation or recovery in England?
Response: No
Justification: Although originally regarded as VU in GB, the species was assessed as LC in GB (Stroh et al. 2014). This was supported by Atlas 2020, which notes the distribution as being stable. Currently known from around 25 sites, the species is now better recorded in Dorset and Staffordshire and it has now been rediscovered in Derbyshire, as well as a second new population in the Isle of Wight. The threat status of the three subspecies (or varieties) is yet to be determined as their taxonomic status is uncertain.
Question 2: Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions?
Response: No
Justification: The species currently appears to be doing well without the need for species-specific actions.
Question 3: At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages?
Response: No
Justification: This species would not benefit from untargeted management
