Criteria

Question 1: Does species need conservation or recovery in England?
Response: No
Justification: Known only from a small number of localities in Kent and Essex between 1855 and 1940, when the last British record occurred at Deal. The species is probably extinct in Britain and if it reappears here, is likely to do so at coastal sites in south east England which regularly receive a level of survey effort by entomologists. On this basis it is not a suitable candidate for any recovery action.
Question 2: Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions?
Response: No
Justification: Known only from a small number of localities in Kent and Essex between 1855 and 1940, when the last British record occurred at Deal. The species is probably extinct in Britain and if it reappears here, is likely to do so at coastal sites in south east England which regularly receive a level of survey effort by entomologists. On this basis it is not a suitable candidate for any recovery action.
Question 3: At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages?
Response: N/A
