Criteria
Question 1: | Does species need conservation or recovery in England? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | Presumed extinct |
Question 2: | Does recovery/ conservation depend on species-specific actions? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | Confined to a single site in England, the mouth of the River Wampool, Cumbria, where it was first recorded in 2000, but specimens have been found in museum and private collections indicating that the species has been present there for over 80 years. Searches of similar sites along the Cumbrian coast have proved negative, as have further searches of specimens in museum collections. Although the population is vulnerable, there are no immediate threats to the site. On this basis, the species is not a priority for recovery actions at the current time. |
Question 3: | At a landscape scale, would the species benefit from untargeted habitat management to increase habitat mosaics, structural diversity, or particular successional stages? |
Response: | No |
Justification: | This species would not benefit from untargeted management |
